Let’s start in NUKE 12.2 - 04 Understanding Premults & Alphas in NUKE
In this tutorial, you will learn the concept of Premultiplication in Compositing. You will learn how to stencil out backgrounds with the help of an Alpha channel and what the NUKE Merge Node wants to have as input. Also, we talk about different Merge Operations and why it is so important to know when to unpremult and to premult - for example with Color Corrections.
These topics are covered:
Project Settings
Reformat a Plate
Generating a colored Background
Merging FG & BG
Merge operations
Mathematical Operations in Merge
Why is Premultiplication important?
Radial Node
Adding Postage Stamps
Using Merges
Understanding Multiply & Plus
Premultiplication by hand
Dot Nodes
