In this tutorial series, we will talk about Blackmagic Fusion Studio and Blackmagic DaVinci Resolve (Fusion page) as a professional VFX Compositing package. We will dive into basic workflows and techniques to make your daily compositing work more effective and fun.
In this tutorial, you will learn the Fundamentals of the Merge tool and the almighty Channel Booleans tool. These two tools are the cornerstones of every composition inside of Fusion. I will explain the different parameters of both nodes and also show many use-cases how to use them. We will talk about Premultiplication inside of Fusion, how to use Alpha Multiply and Alpha Divide and how to inject different kinds of image data into the channels.
If you come from Nuke, you will find the Fusion equivalents to the Merge, Shuffle and Copy Nodes, as well as the Pre-Multiplication Workflow in Fusion.
