DISCODELICOS - Session 21 / El Frenético presents: "Rincones de mi Perú" #vinyldj #vinylmix
To our supporters who keep coming back to party with us: THANK YOU! And if this your first session: WELCOME! Please subscribe!
For this 21st session, we are elated to present El Frenético as he blesses us with a splendid 31-minute set of Peruvian obscurities!
Marco Caballero, a.k.a. “El Frenético,” is a vinyl collector from Peru with an extensive online archive showcasing the country’s 7-inch record productions. His website, freneticos.net, along with his YouTube channel, have served for years as practical guides for collectors and DJs around the world looking to dive into Peruvian recordings from the 1960s and 1970s.
For this session, Marco put together a selections set that serves as a flight of goodies that only begin to shed some light on the different frequencies emanating from different corners of Peru during the '60s and '70s. When the Peruvian recording industry decided to hand the microphone to local talent, musical expressions transcended geography—Coast, Highlands, and Jungle all resonated equally.
This episode features the sounds of Lima, Arequipa, Pucallpa, Tingo María, Cañete, Callao, Cajamarca, and Ayacucho, proudly blaring loudly from the Discodelic storefront stage, right in the heart of the Mission District, San Francisco.
We hope you love this episode as much as we do!
