Welcome back to another #Discodelicos session! And if this is your first time, we're glad you're here! Please make sure to subscribe!
For today's session, we have DJ Adam (who hosts the "Wake The Town" radio show on San Francisco's 89.5 KPOO station) bless us with a righteous set, jam packed to the brim with some of his favorite rocksteady and reggae obscurities.
Adam, who was born and raised in Los Angeles, eventually landed in San Franscisco, where he has hosted "Wake The Town" for over the past 10 years now, playing the best in Jamaican Oldies on vinyl and broadcasting live from San Francisco’s 89.5 FM KPOO every Wednesday 3pm-
5:30pm PST. He also hosted the long running monthly dance party “Festival ’68” for 12 years. Bringing in DJs from Japan, England, Germany, Oslo Norway, Mexico, and Canada, as well as top local and national selectors, to guest monthly. Adam has also been very fortunate to travel to Europe and Mexico to showcase his selections, most recently traveling to Berlin for the 2024 Vintage Jamaican Music Sound Clash, winning the trophy. Other places traveled include Bristol UK & Oslo Norway as well as do warm up sets locally for Legendary Jamaican Recording artists such as Jimmy Cliff, Lee Perry, Gregory Isaacs, The Melodians, Derrick Harriott, Pat Kelly, The Jamaicans and many more.
We are absolutely thrilled to bring you this scorcher of a set, and we hope that you bang it out loud and proper. TURN IT UP TO THE RED!
