A case for when to use banana handstand
The arch back handstand has been vilified a bit recently, but it's an important part of the history of the handstand and still can serve a purpose even using modern technique.
The straight handstand is beneficial to learn for many reasons but the position is highly dependent on shoulder flexibility. Someone who is missing the flexibility in the shoulders will most likely have to arch the back in order to still maintain a vertical line of force.
Of course we want to continue to get the shoulders more often, but I think this modification can be useful for those who are less mobile.
