LOST CIVILIZATION | Deep Meditation Ambient | Alien World Soundscape | Ambience, Background
Planet: Ashkar Prime
Sector: Lysana Cluster
The shuttle’s descent through Ashkar Prime’s thick atmosphere was nerve-wracking. Turbulent winds buffeted the hull, forcing me to rely on manual navigation to avoid the jagged mountain peaks that seemed to materialize from the dense cloud cover. When I finally broke through the mist, the landscape revealed itself—a sprawling coastline dotted with towering monoliths, standing defiant against time and erosion.
The monoliths are unlike anything I’ve seen before. Each one is carved from a stone native to this planet, its mineral composition unfamiliar even to my advanced spectrometer. Their surfaces are etched with symbols—intricate and precise, yet seemingly chaotic, like the thoughts of an ancient mind trying to communicate something profound. Some glow faintly when touched, though I can’t determine if the light is a remnant of old technology or a natural phenomenon embedded in the stone.
The pools of water surrounding these formations are shallow but strangely still. No ripples disturb their surface, not even when I walk near. It’s as if the water is held in place by some unseen force. The air here is heavy with moisture, and the faint scent of sulfur lingers—a byproduct of the planet’s active tectonic activity, perhaps?
The cliffs in the background loom like silent sentinels, their surfaces scarred by time yet bearing the same carvings as the monoliths. If these structures were constructed, their creators must have possessed both immense skill and purpose. But where are they now? Did they ascend to some higher existence, or were they victims of the harsh environment that now threatens to erode their legacy?
Gravity here is slightly stronger than Earth’s, and every step feels like a small act of defiance. My suit’s compensators are struggling to adjust, leaving me drained after only a few hours of exploration. The mist rolling across the land adds to the sense of isolation, muffling sound and obscuring distant details.
As I sit by one of the larger monoliths, I find myself reflecting on the transience of human achievement. These stones, weathered and worn, have endured millennia, their purpose and creators long forgotten. Yet here I am, a fleeting presence on a world that will outlast me by eons.
I’ve decided to name this site the Silent Shore. Its beauty is haunting, its stillness unsettling. If I close my eyes, I can almost hear whispers carried on the wind, as if the planet itself mourns the loss of its past.
Tomorrow, I’ll attempt to scale the cliffs and investigate the source of the faint energy readings my instruments have detected. For now, I’ll rest and marvel at the resilience of this place.
