Log Entry #17: Planet Exoris, System Ilythra The golden mist envelops the horizon as if Exoris itself wants to shield its secrets from me. This world’s surface feels alive—organic yet uninhabited. The vast formations before me resemble towering fungi, their caps glistening in a strange amber hue, subtly pulsating, or perhaps that’s an optical illusion in this perpetual haze. Beneath my boots, the ground is soft, like a dense fabric of interconnected, moss-like organisms, cushioned but firm enough to hold my weight. Exoris is a low-gravity world. Every step I take feels lighter, almost playful, yet the effort to walk through the uneven terrain reminds me I’m no native to this environment. The air is intoxicating—literally. My suit’s filters hum with activity, combating a concoction of unbreathable gases laced with faint hints of sulfur and something sweetly metallic. Breathing outside unaided would be fatal. The skies burn with an unnatural light, diffused by the dense, sunlit mist. My scanners indicate the planet's star, Caria-3, emits energy in a spectrum that paints this environment in permanent hues of gold and orange. Shadows here are faint and diffuse, lending an almost dreamlike softness to everything in sight. Approaching one of these colossal structures, I run my gloved hand across its base. The surface is unexpectedly smooth, warm even, and teeming with microscopic organisms that react to my touch. Could these alien mushrooms be symbiotic hubs, sustaining the crimson flora beneath? I pause to think of Earth's words about alien worlds: “Every blade of grass is a page in the book of life.” If this is true, Exoris is a library waiting to be explored. Though awe-inspiring, the journey has been harsh. This system's ion storms knocked out my primary navigation just a day before arrival. The turbulence left most of my supplies disorganized, and yet stepping onto Exoris feels worth every moment of chaos. The infinite stillness of this alien valley presses down on my chest, filling me with an overwhelming awareness of how utterly alone I am. But there's solace in solitude—a weightlessness that accompanies the isolation. I find myself overcome by a single thought: Could any being, anywhere in the universe, look upon this alien grandeur and not feel humble? The Exoris spore fields stretch endlessly beyond the veil of mist. This place is no hostile abyss, yet neither is it welcoming. I see beauty here, but also feel the indifference of a planet older than any record, indifferent to my presence. Tonight, I’ll camp beneath this overhanging rock face, where the quiet hum of the fungal life keeps me company. But I cannot linger long—this planet is teaching me humility, and there are many more lessons beyond the stars waiting to be learned. I’ll close today’s log with gratitude for a safe landing on Exoris and hope that my next steps, wherever they lead, are guided by the same spirit of wonder. #scifiambient #ambient #ambientmusic #soundscape #backgroundmusic #drone #dystopia #postapocalyptic #postapocalypse #darkambient #emotionalmusic #existentialmusic #noisemusic #meditationmusic #musicforsleep #musicforstudying #musicformeditation #musicforthesoul #musicforstudy #ambientmusicforstudying #ambientmusicforsleep #ambientmusicforwork #musicforprogramming #relaxingambientmusic #dystopianmusic #ambientsound #ambientsoundscapes #distanthorizon #scarymusic #horrormusicsoundeffect #horromusic
