This is PART 03 of How to rig a bird in Maya for animation with Advanced Skeleton
In this free series I will cover the whole bird rigging process, made easy for animators and non riggers. I am using a hummingbird, but you can rig any type of bird or winged creature.
In Parts 1 and 2 we covered model prep, joint placement from the bird template and setting up advanced skeleton. Then in Part 02 we rigged the wings.
In this video Part 3, we will be rigging the tail feathers with a similar system to the wings, giving us great bendy and stretchy animation controls.
This will work with any bird model, you can use your own or purchase various 3d bird assets on stock market places
I will NOT be covering how to create feather systems, this is a whole deeper skillset, but you can build a beautiful animator friendly bird right here! and 🔥now all in 4K!
