Winter In the Norwegian Woods, Homestead Diary | The sheep gets a scare, offgrid waffles ++ It's winter in the forest on our off-grid homestead in Norway. Snow and weather changes shape our daily life alongside the sheep, Mangalitza wool pigs, Muscovy ducks, chickens, and all the other animals on the small farm. We fell spruce trees for the sheep—they love eating them in winter—but they don’t dare come down and run around as if they're being chased. Then I hear it: a howl in the forest. I'm quite sure it's a wolf, closer than ever before. Luckily, the sheep run home on their own, and I have to drag the branches up to them. After this, all the animals are kept inside at night. Inside, we make yellow cheese and Norwegian brunost, and we bake waffles on a cast-iron waffle iron on the wood stove. There's cozy waffle time with brunost while the storm outside brings a thaw. By the end of the video, we've reached the end of January, and the very first sliver of sunlight finally touches the ground—to the great joy of both us and the animals. #homestead #winter #norway #sheep #snow #offgrid #farmlife #snowfall
