What if Jaime Lannister SAVED Elia Martell and Targaryen Children
What if Jaime Lannister SAVED Ellia Martell and Her Children? Let’s explore the depths of it in the video. Jaime stands over the corpse of the Mad King, breathing heavily as the full realization of what he did begins to hit him. He stares at his bloody hands, feeling them shake. This goes beyond just regicide, this is a betrayal. A betrayal of his kingdom, his oath, and what it means to be a knight. And yet, he does not think of that now. He hears the commotion happening from outside and realizes he has little time to waste. If he knows his father, then he knows what will happen next. Tywin’s army has already started to breach the castle walls and it is only a matter of time before they enter Maegor’s Holdfast and there are only a handful of Targaryens left. Jaime hurries to the royal apartments, his footsteps echoing across the ground as he pushes the chambers open, finding Elia Martell clutching her children tightly in her arms. Her eyes widen, but Jaime beckons her to follow him to the White Sword Tower. As they hurry up the steps, Jaime watches the doorway, hearing voices behind them. He finds a squad of Lannister men-at-arms approaching, led by Ser Amory and Gregor. The Mountain: Ser Jaime. We are searching for the princess and her children. Have you seen them? Jaime: Yes, I have already arrested them so you need not worry about that. Mountain: Our task is not to arrest them. Step aside so we can complete it. The giant attempts to brush past him, but Jaime blocks his path, one hand reaching down for his sword. Ser Amory pales and Gregor growls and reaches over his shoulder to grab his greatsword. Jaime: I’m afraid it is. You see, my job is to protect the king and his family. That includes his grandchildren. So you see the problem if I let you pass. Gregor: You are playing a dangerous game, Lannister. Your father will hear of this. Jaime: Perhaps, but it is him I answer to, not you. Now if you truly have your blood boiling, I will be glad to indulge you. However, I think even a bull like you understands what Lord Tywin will do if you lay a finger on me. You’re strong, I’ll grant you. But are you strong enough to take on every man in his army? For a moment, it seems like the Mountain might risk this confrontation. He growls and grips the hilt of his sword. Behind him, the rest of his men step back while Jaime gets into a fighting position. And then, he growls and releases his blade, turning and stalking off. Ser Amory follows suit with Jaime calling after them that Elia is under his protection and should something happen to her or her children, he will know who is responsible. He only lets them out once Robert Baratheon arrives in the capital with his forces. By that time, Tywin has learned about his son's actions and is furious. But he finds an unexpected ally in Ned Stark who bars the way and prevents any Lannister solider from getting close to the tower. It is a tense situation that nearly escalates into violence, but remains civil. By the time Jaime escorts them into the throne room, Tywin, Robert, and Ned are waiting for him. Tywin: Explain your foolishness, Jaime. Now. Jaime: I…simply thought that our fearless leader, Robert Baratheon would like the honors of striking the final blow. He pulls his longsword from his scabbard and tosses it to the ground. The other’s eyes widen in surprise at the gesture, especially Robert whose eyes flash with fury at the challenge. But he does not move to pick it up. Instead, he stares at the trio. Elia Martell clings to her children tightly. There is no defiance in her, no challenge. Simply fears for herself and her children. Jaime can see Robert’s resolve crumble. He can see the emotions war in him, but one thought becomes clear. Heroes don’t kill children. Slowly, Robert sinks back to his throne and sighs. Robert: What am I to do with you? Jon Arryn: Robert. If I may, this could perhaps be a blessing in disguise. Having Elia here could appease the Dornish, and her children’s safety would go a long way in satisfying the royalists. Robert: Satisfy them. Until they decide to rebel and put crowns on their heads. Jon: Perhaps, but it can prevent another threat from emerging. Viserys remains at large and with the royal children here, they could act as insurance should the prince decide to press his claim. Ned: And to ensure this, we can have the children and their mother swear an oath that they shall not press their claim to the Iron Throne, with all the lords hear as sworn witnesses. Robert: Very well, I suppose that can work. Elia wastes no time in swearing before the Old Gods, the New, and the Rhoynar that she will not try to crown her children. She coaxes Aegon and Rhaenys to do the same and then it is done. As they are sent away to Dorne, Ned glances at Jaime and gives him a respectful nod. However, Lord Tywin is anything but pleased.
