Weird Heathkit Potentiometer

I'm suffering serious Heathkit Acquisition Syndrome. Help! I've not seen this style of "safer" potentiometer on any other Heathkit test equipment, so it seemed worth a closer look. Please comment if you know of other HealthKits with this kind of pot!
