In this video I talk through step by step the dismantling of a SkyWatcher EQ5 Pro mount in preparation for cleaning, polishing, regressing and re-assembly. This takes less than 20 minutes going through these steps end to end.
This video only covers the disassembly phase but it is something that anyone who is vaguely competent with mechanical things can do. I'm definitely not an expert but I have been through this process and everything is working fine. Certainly better than when I started.
This video is for any astronomer that has an EQ5 Pro mount that has issues with tracking, guiding, slewing etc. that could be fixed by regressing all of the moving parts of your mount. It is something that a beginner could follow along with to know what to expect and what steps are required.
