This is a long video. However, if you just want to learn how to do the popular flaps setup with flight modes for elevator trim, that section is only 10 minutes long. I do however offer an alternative.
My method does Not use flight modes. I use a mix which solves a few issues when using slow downs and flight modes.
The flight mode method (which I call the Simple Flap setup) works very well and many people use it with success. I do demonstrate a few weaknesses with this setup. But if you want a different approach to setting up flaps, I show you my method. There two versions of my method. One with a switch controlling the flaps and one with a slider controlling the flaps.
After the video was completed, I decided to add one more section. I originally demonstrated my method for a Flap to Elevator mix to add some elevator compensation when engaging the flaps. I personally never do aileron compensation but I'm sure that many do. I added a section that shows how to set that up. It's essentially the same process as the flap to elevator mix but I thought it would be good to show it.
At the end of the video, I also added a section on using the Balance Channels feature (or servo matching) do you can fine tune your flaps so they move exactly the same throughout the range of motion.
