Planting Tulip Bulbs in January or February is my Top Time.
In this video Bunny explains why she prefers planting the larger bulbs such as tulips, many alliums, and more later on rather than in the autumn. Many contractors buy and plant at this time as the price is heavily slashed. Tulip bulbs are more vulnerable to tulip Fire, the dreaded disease, the longer they are in the soil so later planting in wet areas is far better. Also bulbs are less vulnerable to squirrels if they are in the soil for less time. Bunny talks about how to make tulips more perennial, how to stop squirrels devouring them, what great affects you can create by designing with bulbs, the best bulbs for mown areas, why lasagne planting makes no difference compared to planting all on the same level and other elements of using bulbs in your garden to fulfil their maximum potential. #spring #flowers
