My Hives Feb15 2018

This is a late winter check on my hives. I was pleased to see that so many of them have survived so far. However I know that late Feb into March is a tough period for honey bees. Extreme swings in weather temperature can be tough on them. They can use up their honey stores and starve. I have provided them with sugar candy boards as insurance against starvation. I hope that is enough to get them through to the next honey flow.
