✨ Let’s talk numbers — without getting too nerdy.
In today’s video, I’m sharing the pricing strategy I use to run my candle business sustainably and profitably. Spoiler: I don’t use the typical “double your cost for wholesale, triple it for retail” method — and I’ll explain why.
Instead, I start by pricing for retail first, and build in margin based on the full product lineup — high-margin items help cover the lower ones. I’m walking you through my approach, including how I aim for an 85% margin, how I factor in overhead, and why this method works for me — even though it requires a bit of math and some sales prediction magic. 🧮✨
Whether you're just starting your candle biz or looking to tweak your numbers, I hope this gives you some helpful insight and real-world perspective. I’m not a pricing expert — just a maker sharing what’s worked (and not worked) for me.
