Spaghetti and Meatballs this all time classic is one my favorite to go to dinner ideas on any day of the week.
Foe this easy and delicious recipe , am using ground beef chuck , 80/20 fat ratio mixed with mild Italian sausage for flavor, richness and texture.
INGREDIENTS
3 lb Ground beef chuck ( 80/20 )
3 Mild Italian sausages, casings removed
1Large red onion, peeled, diced and caramelized ( divided into two )
1 Tbs Garlic, chopped
1/2 C Panko bread crumbs (1 c if using fresh bread crumbs )
1/2 c Milk
1/4 c Fresh parsley, cleaned and chopped finely
1/2 c Grated Parmesan cheese
1 Egg , at room temperature
For the Sauce
1 Tbs Vegetable oil
1 Tbs Caramelized onions ( Reserved earlier )
1 Tbs Garlic, chopped
1 Tsp Tomato paste
1 Medium can ( 15 oz ) Tomato sauce
1 Large can ( 28 oz ) crushed tomatoes
2 Bay leaves
Pinch Red pepper flakes
Small bunch basil for cooking and garnish
Salt and pepper to taste
For The Pasta
Boiling , salted water
8oz Spaghetti pasta, dry
Grated Parmesan cheese to finish
Extra virgin olive oil to finish
