What makes them so good? Well in this video, we're going to dive in to all of the things that separate the beginners from the pros. Where better to demonstrate the tips in this video than on the beautiful cypress tree swamps of Texas. I've even got Michael Shainblum on hand to lend some words of wisdom. For once, Amanda takes over the paddling as we rent a lovely canoe. This enables me to reach some amazing locations so that I can shoot long exposures with the telephoto lens. I get trolled by a paddler who says I'm not his favourite photographer, how rude! Shainblum photobombs a magical wildlife moment so I make him pay by suggesting he sucks my toes. Weirdly, he's not very into it. I generously offer to adjust Michaels camera bag straps so that his shirt spuds can enjoy a little lift but I think he's offended. I make it up to him by trading him a copy of 'Chasing Awe' in return for his wireless lav mic. He's a hard man to please. I also give you a demo of how to understand the way light affects a scene simply by returning later in the day when the light is much softer. Naturally, I get the shot.
