I had just moved to New Jersey from Staten Island and would visit family during school breaks. The same month it dropped, during Thanksgiving break ‘95, my older cousin put the tape on and I experienced my first movie in pure musical form. The album cannot be improved on as it is PERFECT already. RZA is probably my prime inspiration in LIFE not just music. Being from S.I., Wu Tang is part of my identity in a way that has nothing to do with music at all. I never wanted to recreate what they did/do, but morph off them the way they did the legends who influenced them and do my own thing. The greater hip hop world was inspired by what they created and others followed their blueprint to put their areas on and show new sides to the game. Difference for me is the footprint started here, and the task of filling their shoes, nigh impossible. Liquid Swords was the first wu album to add the live elements into the production courtesy if RZAs Nord Lead synth as heard on Killah Hilla 10304, 4th Chamber, etc. So while most of these beats are made of slow atmospheric samples, most have a light blend of synth/guitar here and there. My remixes are not about “improving” anything but showing which albums inspired the beats I made over my lifetime. It’s about showing what “Wu-Tang FOREVER” actually meant aka inspiring the next generation. This is how I paid homage. I did not make these beats for these remixes, just matched already existing demos to what I felt fit naturally. IMO they 100% have LS elements, not in the mix but thats why albums cost money to make and this is free for youtube. But for the people who act like wu tang ended in 97 and hip hop just doesnt make those sounds anymore…. Just something different for a classic 30 years after the fact. For those wanting a more traditional wu sound, check out one of the many wu oriented channels dedicated to bringing the actual sound back; they’re incredible and do the lords work. - BEZbobby If you enjoy it please press like and share as thats the only way people will find it.
