God rays can be used intensely to create drama and mystery, or conversely can be used subtly to suggest an atmosphere within a bathroom or pool area of an architectural visualisation. The reason that god rays are often seen to be red or yellow are because predominantly they are seen at sunrise and sunset, and the path the rays take through the atmosphere, leave only the longer wavelengths reaching us. That being said they can also be seen at other times during the day when there is a stark contrast between light and dark and there are a lot of particulates in the air.
