Create this Ghost in the Shell effect with Blender 2.8 cloth simulation (beginner friendly)
In this tutorial we will use cloth simulation in Blender 2.80 to create this effect from the Ghost In The Shell title sequences where some white goo peels off this robot girl's face. The final result can be rendered in Eevee or cycles (instructions provided for both) I have tried to keep this one as beginner friendly as possible but you'll still need to have a basic understanding of the Blender interface. Check out the original animated title sequence (a little bit NSFW): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7_lz0CImm3Q And the Scarlett Johansson movie version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oVtMty_6t8o Free head scan with textures used in the tutorial: https://vgl.ict.usc.edu/Data/DigitalEmily2/ Some other free scans you could use (signup possibly required): https://www.3dscanstore.com/blog/Free-3D-Head-Model https://www.eisko.com/louise/virtual-model HDRI used in the tutorial: https://hdrihaven.com/hdri/?h=industrial_pipe_and_valve_01 Enjoy! 0:00 Intro 1:11 Head download and setup 3:08 Flakes model setup 10:40 Flakes preview sim setup 18:04 Main cloth sim setup 24:30 Cloth tweaks 27:16 Simulation caching 29:07 Render setup and Lighting 36:05 Creating shaders 45:25 Outro
