COLT Python .357 MAGNUM Gun Lighter Restoration
In this restoration video, I'll be repairing and restoring an amazing Colt Python .357 Magnum gun lighter, turning this rusty and broken lighter back into a functional and beautiful piece! ABOUT THE GUN LIGHTER: Important Note: This item is NOT a firearm—it's a detailed Chinese-made cigarette lighter modeled after the iconic Colt Python .357 Magnum revolver. I received this lighter from one of my loyal subscribers, a magnet fisherman who often sends me interesting objects recovered from lake bottoms for restoration. This is a remastered video version taken from one of old restorations projects. I have improved the video to fit todays needs. I hope old viewers will like this new video edit anyway! The Colt Python .357 Magnum revolver was first introduced in 1955, coincidentally the same year Smith & Wesson released their .44 Magnum revolver. Although this lighter isn't real, it's incredibly realistic, so please handle responsibly! Unfortunately, these inexpensive Chinese butane lighters often break easily. Repairing the butane valve, burner, and gas tank can be quite challenging once damaged. THE RESTORATION PROCESS: I began by thoroughly cleaning off dirt, rust, mud, and mold from the lighter. After applying oil to loosen screws, I carefully disassembled the lighter into numerous individual parts. Due to severe corrosion, I had to drill out four screws that had partially disintegrated. Next, I sandblasted and ground the gun frame to remove deep metal pitting, then polished the metal thoroughly until it looked almost new. All small metal components were cleaned in my mini tumbler, while plastic parts were restored using Muriatic acid and polished with car wax to regain their original shine. Thanks to previously restoring a similar lighter about two and a half years ago, this project was smooth and straightforward, allowing me to apply my experience effectively. I hope you enjoyed watching this lighter restoration!
