It’s been 16 years since I first picked up the Canon 5D Mark II, and in that time a lot has changed. Me mostly. I’m the thing that’s changed. I guess camera technology has as well. The amount of debt I’m in has certainly changed.
Watch me inch closer and closer to the decision to sell my mirrorless gear, one video at a time. I don’t need it. And increasingly, I don’t even want it. Perhaps a smattering of classic DSLRs is / was all I ever really needed. The 5D Mark II isn't my favorite camera, in terms of fun, in terms of nostalgia, but it IS the best, objectively the best DSLR that I've ever owned.
I therefore present: a video that could only exist by virtue of my having gotten old.
