Perhaps the Finest Classic DSLR of Them All: 1Ds Mark II

17 gorgeous megapixels of full-frame goodness for $350! First I purchased two Canon 1D Mark IIs, both of which I returned. Instead of buying a third, I went for the 1Ds Mark II, and I was absolutely blown away this time. But alas, it can't all be roses. We live in a cruel world absolutely jam-packed with First World problems. Nevertheless, I feel the 1Ds Mark II is the sweet spot between vintage and modern, leading me to believe that the DSLR may have peaked in 2004.
