Witness a behind-the-scenes look at a unique day of testing and collaboration between the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department (LASD) and police officers from 8 different California departments participating in a unique event at an EVOC facility. As law enforcement agencies nationwide are increasingly piloting, testing and adopting Tesla vehicles, the event provided a valuable opportunity for some of the nation's top EVOC instructors to push the limits of these UP.FIT Teslas and train officers, many experiencing Teslas for the first time. This event focused on real-world performance and a goal to maximize the performance capabilities of UP.FIT Tesla vehicles on the challenging EVOC course.
Watch as officers – many driving a Tesla for the first time – evaluate the Model Y's performance compared to the industry-standard Ford Explorer PIU. With permission, we captured their honest reactions and insights throughout the day.
As a bonus after the day's curriculum wrapped-up, there was a thrilling drag race featuring the LASD Model S Plaid and some wet skidpad action with the UP.FIT vehicles!
A special thanks to the LASD EVOC team for hosting this event and to all the attendees for their participation.
