I keep falling in love with Elektron Syntakt. This little box offer a great power and fun.
You might know that the Vermona Perfourmer MKII + Octatrack MKII is my long time favorite combo, with the only issue of the size ( too big for some gigs), so I wanted to recreate a similar setup/workflow using Syntakt plus a controller. Limiting myself using only 4 voices ( 3 of them can be analog dual VCOs) and using the Shik n32b as a 4 row controller I managed to find a very cool way to create and improvise.
This little setup has a lot of potential, with a few things missing from my main one: no arpeggiator and no scale quantization when you put trigs down and select notes with the knob ( please Elektron fix that!!!).
I am adding the beautiful Meris LVX at the output, it sounds just great.
I will also compare the workflow to the octatrack and Vermona , to show you the main differences.
Enjoy!
