Blacksmithing : Hand Forging Small Coat Hooks

I am sharing the process of hand forging small coat hooks, using traditional methods of blacksmithing, side draft forge and stone coal. A piece of metal I used is a round steel bar 12x12mm, approximately 14cm long. The hooks are really simple in design, but I love the technique of forging a couple of them from one piece and then cutting the piece into two, so this length is needed for two hooks. Blacksmithing techniques: drawing, bending, hot punching, hot cutting, To forge these hooks I used a rounding hammer for moving the metal and a heavier hammer for hot punching. The tools are: anvil, rounding hammer, heavy hammer, bending fork, blacksmith's tongs, hardy chisel, drill, wire brush.. You can use a file / rasp for finishing as well. No power hammer needed for this project.
