Before The Storm with Rinzen

We first met Mike about four years ago at Brooklyn Mirage during one of the first shows after the pandemic. He approached us, excited about a few deep cuts we’d played during our set. Right away, we could tell he was a true student of the music—someone who thought deeply about its creation and the art of DJing. As we got to know him better, we realized he’s not only a fantastic DJ and producer, but also a genuinely kind person 😊. A single listen to the remix he did of our track “Losing Ground” was enough to show us that his sound design and creative arrangements are among the best out there. After hearing more of his music and being consistently impressed, it felt natural to get into the studio together and see what we could create. We didn’t expect “Before The Storm” to come together so quickly, but within a few hours, we’d basically finished the track. We were all so excited about what we’d made—it felt like the perfect blend of the film scores that inspired us and the emotional intensity of the music we’d been playing in recent years. Debuting it in San Diego at Proper with @lane8music felt like the ideal moment, and it’s been amazing to see all of your reactions at our shows. We’re so excited for you to finally have it in your hands.
