Journal Entry — Expedition Day 112 Planet: Lysara IV, Sector 7-19 Galaxy: Orion Delta Cluster The skies of Lysara IV burn with an amber light as the nearby gas giant drifts across the horizon, its ring system casting pale shadows over the ice plains. It’s the kind of view that makes you forget how far you’ve traveled, how many light-years separate you from home. We landed on one of the elevated platforms—ancient, smooth as glass, and perfectly circular. There are no inscriptions, no signs of life, just these silent monuments standing like sentinels across the frozen landscape. Our instruments can’t determine their age, but the wear on their surfaces suggests millennia of exposure to this world’s harsh climate. The atmosphere here is thin but breathable, laced with trace elements of argon and sulfur. Gravity feels just a fraction lighter than Earth’s, enough to make every step feel almost weightless. The air tastes metallic, with a hint of ozone that clings to every breath. Temperatures plummet at night, reaching lows we’re barely equipped to endure. Even with our thermal gear, the cold bites through every layer. And yet, there’s a strange beauty in the way the frost glitters under the planet’s twin moons. I couldn’t help but wonder about the civilization that built these platforms. Were they astronomers, gazing at the same stars we see now? Or pilgrims, gathering here for rituals lost to time? Perhaps they abandoned this place long ago, leaving behind only questions. Earlier today, we detected a faint energy signature beneath one of the structures—just a whisper of power, but enough to suggest that something beneath the surface still lives. Tomorrow, we’ll attempt to excavate. If we’re lucky, we may finally get some answers. As I write this, the sky is darkening, and a curtain of mist begins to roll across the plains. I find myself thinking of an old Earth proverb: “We are but visitors in a world far older than ourselves.” It feels more true here than anywhere else I’ve been. For now, all we can do is watch and wait, while the endless stars keep their silent vigil above us. — Commander Elias Varen Lysara IV Expedition Log #scifiambient #ambient #ambientmusic #soundscape #backgroundmusic #drone #dystopia #postapocalyptic #postapocalypse #darkambient #emotionalmusic #existentialmusic #noisemusic #meditationmusic #musicforsleep #musicforstudying #musicformeditation #musicforthesoul #musicforstudy #ambientmusicforstudying #ambientmusicforsleep #ambientmusicforwork #musicforprogramming #relaxingambientmusic #dystopianmusic #ambientsound #ambientsoundscapes #distanthorizon #scarymusic #horrormusicsoundeffect #horromusic
