The Academy Color Encoding System (ACES) is an open source industry standard color management and image interchange system. It is used in the motion picture industry and is popular for collaboration between facilities. FilmLight Colorist and Workflow Specialist, Andy Minuth, explains how scene templates easily enable ACES workflows when setting up these projects in Baselight. Other topics include: loading different types of footage, applying CDL values, dealing with out-of-gamut colors, creating scene looks from LMTs and rendering/preparing VFX plates.
