Zorki 6 - The Search For The Ultimate, Budget, Rangefinder Camera
I've been using Zorki cameras since the 1980s and quite enjoyed the process, but there were certain things that I missed on the 4 and 4K models that I'd used up to that point, not least of all, strap lugs!!! While trying to find the perfect, budget, rangefinder camera with interchangeable lenses, I stumbled upon the Zorki 6, which actually ticked many of the boxes I was looking for (I was determined not to fall into the expensive Leica trap, because although good, they weren't something that I actually needed). I waited until I found a body only copy of a Zorki 6, serviced it, bunged on an Industar 26M lens and headed out for some retro rangefinder fun. My copy of the Zorki 6 was made in the USSR by Krasnogorskiy Mechanicheskiy Zavod or KMZ for short in 1960. The first film was Shanghai GP3, and for the second roll I did a bit of an experiment using Lomochrome Turquoise.
