ZIKE VS ACASIS Thermal Throttling Stress Test Thunderbolt USB4 SSD Enclosures - Apple Silicon M4 Mac

This video shows how an external SSD can overheat and go into thermal throttling. Once an SSD has hit the point of thermal throttling it will become slower. For the test I'm using the Zike Z666 USB4 40Gb/s enclosure, which is a passive enclosure. The other enclosure is the Acasis TBU405Pro M1, which is Thunderbolt 4 USB4 and uses active cooling with a fan. Both enclosures have been tested with the same SSD, which is the Western Digital WD SN850X NVMe Gen 4 M.2 SSD and the one used is the 4TB version. So for this test I am doing SSD disk speed testing. I test each drive with the Balckmagic Disk Speed Test app, then I do a long stress test where I write to the drive for over 50 minutes, then I perform another disk speed test. After the testing it's clear to see that the Zike overheats but the Acasis does not. I said in the video that I would do real-world speed testing. However, as the Zike had overheated and the Acasis clearly beat it with the synthetic speed test, it just wasn't worth doing the real world test. Let me know in the comments your thoughts. However, this is an excellent SSD if used internally with a computer with proper SSD cooling and good airflow.
