It was about an hour and a half drive from Muscat to Wadi Shab, and immediately to get started you need to take a boat across the channel of water to start the hike. The hike takes about 45 minutes to an hour and it’s very easy, just following the gorge up stream. The pools of water are clear and it’s amazing to see little patches of date palms against the red rocks. Finally you’ll arrive to the main swimming destination. From you you get into the water and swim upstream to the waterfall. Hidden underneath an almost cave, with just enough room to squeeze your head under, you’ll find a secret waterfall. The scenery is stunning and the water was turquoise and clear. After visiting Wadi Shab, we headed to Sur, along the coast for lunch.
