Woodturning - Well .... This Was Unexpected!
After the success of the first honey pot I really wanted to make another, but me being myself decided to completely change the design and try something new. In the end, I love this design (even though I prefer the original, https://youtu.be/itvUaUCUNTg ), it just took a lot longer than expected, and I made some errors and mistakes (off camera) that changed the design of the dipper in particular, you'll have to wait until the bloopers video 2024 to see the mistakes I made 😂😂 The pot is made from Black walnut and Cedar, with the dipper being last year's Christmas tree. All have been sanded to 3000 grit and finished with food-safe oil. I will have to wait and see if the cedar and black walnut changes the taste of the honey. Let me know what you think of it! I now have a website! Some of my techniques might not be the "best" or safest, so when using any tool or machinery always read and understand safety/manufacturers guidelines first. And Yes, I'm aware that wearing gloves while woodturning is considered an unsafe practice. The gloves I wear are tight-fitting and don’t have any loose threads. I wear them for the protection of my skin. This is a risk that I am willing to take, however I am still very conscious of the potential danger and I do not touch any spinning parts of the lathe. DO NOT copy my actions if you feel unsafe doing so.
