wood turning a 1/4 of a log

In this new woodturning video I am using a 1/4 of a log for this project. I love the way this wood turning project came out. The wood was a little punky so I wiped on shellac and let it soak into the wood to harden the fibers. When that was done I sanded it and added burn lines for accent. It was then finished with friction polish. I wasn't quite sure of the design of this vase when I started but I love how it turned out. I hope you enjoy this video!
