Carrying the burden of preservation on one's back can be a weighty proposition. But when something's lost, sure it can be recreated but the soul of the object and the integrity of its existence have been irrevocably altered. But for some objects what they carry is far too important to be lost to time and neglect. And for these we must ask, Wither The Heirloom?
Oh, and for those that assume I misspelled “whither,” this is a pun, a play on words and the condition of the piece. Are we to let the heirloom simply wither, shrivel up and decay just because the burden of ownership and conservation is heavy? 😁
Also, no the fabric on the back was not part wedding dress
