We didn't have much of a plan, other than to visit some places we'd never been before and spend as much time outdoors as possible, camping or bothying every night. Our route was loosely based on the North Coast 500, with plenty of side trips and detours along the way. We started on the west coast around Arisaig and the Isle of Rum, then headed east to the Orkney Isles, along the very north coast to Cape Wrath, then back down the west all the way to Skye.
