Why You Need to Let Them Go
In today’s video, I’m sharing a deeply personal story about my journey from being a lifelong people pleaser to finally learning how to live for myself. If you’ve ever felt the need to constantly make others happy, always seeking approval, or sacrificing your own well-being for the sake of others, you’re not alone. I was once in your shoes.
I’ve spent years trying to win the approval of family, friends, colleagues, and even strangers. From overworking at jobs that drained me to keeping quiet when I should have spoken up, I lived for everyone but myself. It took a toll on my mental health, my happiness, and my sense of identity. In this video, I reflect on how I finally broke free from the exhausting cycle of people pleasing.
Through heartfelt stories about my childhood, career, and personal life, I explore how this habit started and why it became so ingrained in my identity. From growing up in a strict, unsupportive environment to seeking validation in all the wrong places, I was trapped in a loop of saying “yes” to everything and everyone.
But life isn’t meant to be lived for others’ happiness. It’s about finding your own joy and living authentically. I’ll share how I learned to set boundaries, prioritize my own needs, and let go of relationships, situations, and even jobs that didn’t align with my values.
There’s a lesson in letting go and learning to live for yourself. While it’s not easy, it’s incredibly liberating. In this video, I’ll also touch on the importance of self-care, the power of saying “no,” and how to start valuing your own happiness as much as you value others’.
If you’ve ever struggled with being a people pleaser, this video is for you. Let’s discuss how to reclaim your time, energy, and self-worth. Together, we can break free from the chains of people pleasing and start living a life that truly makes us happy.

I’m a former Marine, father, and husband with an MIT background working in the tech industry. After 20 years of pushing myself relentlessly, I hit a breaking point. That’s when I realized there are more important things in life than just money and success. Since then, I’ve slowed down and learned to enjoy the simple things in life, especially spending time with my family and being out in nature.
I want to share my experiences and journey with you so we can focus on what truly matters in life: our health, our family, and finding joy in the present moment.
