Why STALKER 2 (and UE5) are a massive disappointment
A superficial and unfair analysis, first impressions, and overall sentiment on the brand new STALKER 2 (GSC Game World) after more than 16 years of mod-developer-powered life support. We’re going to look at STALKER 2 as a game but also STALKER 2 as an Unreal Engine 5 product. When GSC released their first teaser trailer, I was absolutely hooked. The trailers that came after were focussed on story and cutscenes, it seemed fun, but didn’t have a lot of substance. Then, release day, a link shared in the GAMMA Discord, and that’s where this video starts. For details and attributions on featured games, trailers and teasers, gameplay footage, and supplementary material, see video credits. Score composed by Theatre of Delays, licensed via Artlist. Closing acoustic guitar track “He was a good stalker” by an unknown artist. — CHAPTERS 00:00 Break-In 01:11 Visuals 07:58 Animation 09:42 Interface 13:13 Closing 15:02 Credits — STALKER 2 First Impressions, STALKER 2 Analysis, STALKER 2 Review, STALKER 2 sucks, STALKER 2 vs. Modded Vanilla, STALKER 2 vs. GAMMA, STALKER 2 vs. Anomaly, STALKER 2 vs. Escape from Pripyat, STALKER GAMMA Graphics, Unreal Engine 5 sucks, The Problems with Unreal Engine 5, Visual Comparison, Graphics Comparison, Gameplay Analysis, Video Essay, Graphics Breakdown, Gameplay Analysis, The Problem with AAA Games, The Problems with the Games Industry #stalker2 #unrealengine #ue5
