The Castorocauda is a prehistoric mammal-like creature that lived during the Jurassic period, around 164 million years ago. Its fossilized remains were discovered in China, providing us with valuable insights into early mammalian evolution. With features similar to modern beavers, otters, and platypuses, this ancient swimming mammal-like animal shows remarkable adaptations including webbed feet, a flat tail, and venomous spurs. As one of the most unique prehistoric mammaliaform discovered, it helps us understand how early mammals lived alongside dinosaurs in the Mesozoic era.
