Why is it so hard capturing Gen-Z on screen?

Why is it so hard to capture an authentic 2024 high school experience on camera? Why does every TV show or movie feel like it's in a faux 2000's version of high school? How the digital age reshaped relationships, why that's hard to depict on screen, and left Gen-Z out of the high school canon. ---------- Also, I don't know if all my references are up to date.
