Why are sleep bag bedding guides so wrong?
In this video, Tizzie talks about how she thinks Australian sleep bag companies copied the UK Grobag company temperature charts—and got it very wrong. I am Tizzie, the founder of Save Our Sleep, and I totally understand why people ask this question. I too am very confused, but also concerned about the incorrect information being given to new parents in Australia. I truly believe this information is dangerous and is causing a few things: 1. Babies waking too often at night, resulting in poor brain development because they are not sleeping well. 2. Parents becoming very sleep deprived and, in turn, getting depressed—often mistaken for postnatal depression. 3. When a baby is old enough to roll, they flip to the unsafe sleeping position of their tummy, putting them at great risk of SIDS and SUDI. I believe one company called Grobag made their chart (the original chart now used by "mainstreams", as you call them) based on the temperatures and humidity in the UK. All the Australian companies, like EP and L to D, just copied it—without taking things like Australian humidity into account. Sadly, we live in a world where people just copy things and don’t do their own research. I have used my bedding guide for over 25 years with my clients, readers, and friends, and I know it works. I know if you change to the Save Our Sleep sleep program and use my bedding, you will see a massive improvement in your little one’s sleep.
