Each year, more and more foreigners are planning their move to Russia, especially now with the new decree. As many of you know, I moved to Moscow, my parents to Saint Petersburg, but there is a third option that has entered the picture…Nizhny Novgorod! 🇷🇺 It’s a big city with a small town feel, attracting visitors from all over the world, and is known as the city of sunsets. But why would someone choose to move their entire life here? I decided to come and find out.
First I visited the Countryside Acres family that moved from Canada 🇨🇦 and you may know them from their popular YouTube channel! They told me about why they picked the Nizhny Novgorod region as their new home, the perfect place to raise their large and lovely family.
I also visited the famous OKA Agency, and its German CEO Jakob Pinneker, who helps foreign citizens make the move to Nizhny Novgorod as easy as possible. Thanks to the OKA agency, foreigners can feel at home in Russia from day 1, which is not always the case when moving to a new country.
Learning the Russian language, finding an apartment, a job, school for your kids, all of this can be daunting. I talked to Jakob to see just how he can help in these situations, and also to learn about his story.
But Jakob isn’t the only German here 🇩🇪 Hans-Jörg is an architect who moved to Nizhny recently with his Russian wife Irina. They invited me to see their beautiful new apartment and compared their life in Germany to now in Russia.
Nizhny Novgorod is a historic city that keeps growing and developing! Whether you want to live in its center and immerse yourself in the culture and arts, or live in the countryside by the peaceful Russian forests…it has something to offer for everyone. You can’t help but fall in love with Nizhny ❤️
If you see yourself living here too, or you have any questions about moving to Russia, you can fill out this form by the OKA agency and they will be happy to help! 🇷🇺
