What’s Happening Roland?
This is the update for the 2nd week of February and today is also Valentine’s Day! The weather has warmed up and the water temperatures are in the 70’s! SpawningTime! I’ve been on lake Okeechobee all week and doing great. One technique that’s pay of big time is drifting the spawning flats with 2 shiners rods out the back of the boat and everybody casting lures in front of of the boat. We catch them both ways but the shiner bass average almost twice what the lure bass average! My favorite lures are 5-6 inch worm, 8” speed worm, Spro pop60 frog,3/8 oz Chatterbait, Jimmy Houston’s red man spinnerbait, Spro 65 aruka shad and the 3/16 th scrounger with a 5-6 inch swimbait. This is the time and weather to catch trophy bass!
