How do you mount your amplifier under one of the front seats without poking holes in the sheet metal? Allyn shares a method he uses all the time. (A similar method can be used for mounting rear seat flip-down monitors to the ceiling/roof as well.)
Mounting amps under the driver or passenger seat can make for a nice install, hiding everything out of sight. Instinct might tell you to just drill into the car's floor, however this creates a weakness in the vehicle's under-side weather proofing. Not to mention you run the risk of puncturing the fuel line, and nobody wants holes in their sheet metal!
Putting something in between the car's floor and your amp, and securing it in place is preferred.
We shot this Q&A while filming the installation video on this 2009 Honda Civic. Allyn and Brendan put in a full system, including a custom subwoofer box for two JL Audio W3's. Check it out by clicking the link below!
