It's not everyday you get to go out the back door in England with the skis and board. Back in January I was lucky to enough to go splitboarding and skiing in The Lake District close to home. It is so rare that the conditions are right and I honestly think it was some of the most special boarding I have ever done. I attempted to go do some lines on Helvellyn but settled for a slope on Whiteside opposite which held the snow a lot better. This is right near Raise where there is a rope tow lift which operates occasionally throughout winter.
