What is Habituation? How We Learn
In this video, we start our series of videos on how we learn. After defining learning, we discuss the most basic form of learning: habituation. We then cover sensitization as the opposite of habituation, giving examples for both. In our next two videos, we discuss classical conditioning and operant conditioning.
Learning: A change in an organism’s behavior or thought as a result of experience.
Habituation: The process of responding less strongly over time to repeated stimuli.
Sensitization: The process of responding more strongly over time to repeated stimuli.
