Let’s explore the depths of it in the video. Maul strides forward, his saberstaff igniting as he glares at the trio of Jedi facing him, Qui-Gon Jinn, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Grandmaster Yoda. A flicker of uncertainty crosses his face as he regards the group. He should not have been there, Yoda was a Jedi Master wise beyond his years, but Palpatine said he would likely remain on Coruscant and he normally would. But somehow Qui-Gon managed to convince the Grand Master to accompany them, to show how important this mission is, and to observe Anakin. Yoda: Outnumbered you are. Maul readies the second blade and gets into a fighting stance. Maul: Outnumbered? Perhaps. But not outmatched. He proves this by rushing at the trio of them, the twin crimson blades spinning in a blinding arc as he tries to cut all three of them in a single swing. The three have their lightsabers out in an instant to block their attacks. They block the attack but stumble back. Maul doesn’t give them the chance to recover, rely on speed to keep them off balance. He turns to Obi-Wan and whirls to face him, slashing one blade and then twisting to jab the lightsaber down. The young Jedi barely manages to avoid it, but Yoda leaps up behind him and slashes at him, though Maul manages to block it. He slides aside as the two launches a counterattack. Maul’s saberstaff spins around, pushing back their attacks before turning to face Qui-Gon in a blinding arc. The Jedi Master meets the attack, his green blade flashing to intercept the strike. The clash of lightsabers sends sparks flying as Maul presses forward. However, Qui-Gon is the only one strong enough to meet it head-on and keeps him at bay. Obi-Wan charges in from the side, his blue saber slashing downward. Maul pivots with uncanny speed, twisting his weapon to bat it aside before flipping over him and sweeping low. But Yosa is faster and leaps onto his leap and parries it. The small Jedi then leaps low, sweeping at his legs and forcing Maul to scramble back. Obi-Wan follows by slashing him across the cheek. The success emboldens the Jedi as the trio rushes at him. Yoda’s form is a blur of green and brown as he rushes from side to side, between his legs, and up in the air, sending Maul back. Meanwhile, Qui-Gon rushes forward, his attacks more straightforward but powerful as he forces him back. This knocks aside his lightsaber, making it harder for him to defend while Obi-Wan takes advantage of these openings and rains down attacks on him. Finally, one attack lands across Maul’s chest and drops him to his knees. He glares and looks up at them. Maul tries to spring forward, his lightsaber pulling back as he slashes at Obi-Wan. Qui-Gon shoves him aside while Yoda holds Maul back with the Force, letting his attack just narrowly avoid him. Snarling the Sith Apprentice stabs downward, but Yoda pins his lightsaber down with his own and allows Qui-Gon to finish him off, driving his lightsaber into his heart. The Sith Lord gasps and stares down at the blade before looking up at them, surprise plain on his face as he falls over. Without Maul, the mission goes fairly smoothly. They manage to reunite with the rest of the Naboo resistance, allowing them to drive back the battle droids and capture Nute Gunray. The only snag is that Anakin manages to find himself in one of the royal starfighters and joins the space battle. But when Anakin returns, he comes back having destroyed the Trade Federation control ship. With this ship destroyed, the droids are deactivated, sealing their victory. While the Naboo people celebrate, Qui-Gon approaches Yoda and bows his head while the elder Jedi stares at Anakin. Qui-Gon: Master Yoda, I owe you my life. Your presence made the difference. Yoda: For good reason, it seems I was here. Powerful that boy is. Great potential I see in him. Qui-Gon: Indeed. Do you believe me now? He may very well be the Chosen One. Yoda: Then a great challenge awaits him. Trained as a normal Jedi, he cannot. Qui-Gon: I agree, he must be trained in the ways of the Living Force. Yoda considers these words carefully and rubs his chin. The celebration gives him time to think and converse with the rest of the Jedi Council. There he concludes that Qui-Gon alone cannot train the young Jedi, instead, he will go with him, leaving the Jedi Order under control for the rest of the council. While surprised, no one questions him and the trio soon says goodbye to Obi-Wan who returns to Coruscant to undergo the trials of the Jedi. Meanwhile, they begin to travel across the galaxy to begin Anakin’s training.
