Deinosuchus was an enormous prehistoric crocodilian that lived during the late Cretaceous period, approximately 82 to 73 million years ago. Its name means "terrible crocodile," and it was one of the largest crocodyliforms ever, reaching lengths of up to 33 feet (10 meters) or more and weighing around 5 to 10 tons.
