We finally have the rafters completed to the far end of our off-grid home — one of the most physically intense parts of the build so far. But the real full-circle moment came with something we’ve waited over a decade to have: a mobile chicken coop built just for our pasture-raised poultry. Not the patched together kind that we have used and put Band-Aids on for the past 10 years but a truly structurally sound and efficient one. When we first moved out here, our dream was to farm full-time — raising chickens, working the land, and someday selling what we grew at a little farm store of our own. A lot of life happened between then and now… but this project reminded us that even slow progress is still progress.
